A dental implant is a titanium post placed in the jawbone to take the place of a lost tooth's root. Once it has fused with the bone, a crown, bridge or denture is fixed on top — restoring the missing tooth with the look, comfort and chewing strength closest to a natural tooth.

Who is it for?

  • People who have lost one or several teeth
  • Wearers of full or partial dentures who want a fixed solution
  • Anyone who wants to close a gap without grinding down neighbouring teeth

Implants are suitable for almost anyone whose general health and jawbone structure allow it. Suitability is assessed through an examination and imaging.

The treatment process

  1. Examination and planning — The bone structure is assessed with an intraoral examination and digital imaging, and the treatment is planned from start to finish.
  2. Placing the implant — Under local anaesthesia, the implant is placed in the jawbone in a short, comfortable surgical procedure.
  3. Healing — A healing period allows the implant to fuse with the bone.
  4. Restoration — After healing, impressions are taken and the crown or denture is made and fixed onto the implant.
